Welcome to Morning Star!
Morning Star School is a Catholic Diocesan school dedicated to meeting the needs of students with learning disabilities and related difficulties. The School strives to develop the student as a whole person, spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. The student's self-esteem is enhanced in an atmosphere that is both challenging and nurturing. It is a non-graded school for children from the ages of 6 to 16. The Primary/Transitional students (6-9 years) attend self-contained classes, with some grouping according to ability for academic subjects. The Intermediate (9-12 years), Junior High Prep (11-13 years) and Junior High (12-16 years) levels are departmentalized by subject areas and ability-grouped in these areas. The Junior High curriculum offers courses that help prepare students to enter high school.
Accreditation
Morning Star School is accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference, which is recognized by the State of Florida.
Memberships are held in the Learning Disabilities Association (LDA), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), Florida Association of Independent Special Education Facilities (FAISEF), and the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).
