Student Dress Code
Clothing and accessories for all students must be appropriate for school. A pleasing appearance, comfortable clothing, and neatness contribute to the feeling of well being of each student. Fads, fashions, over-sized clothing, or dress/hair which distract from the learning environment are unacceptable.
- Make-up, cologne and jewelry -- if used or worn, should not be a source of distraction to the student or other students.
- Chains should be in good taste and of an appropriate size. Pendants that are oversized or of an objectionable nature are not acceptable.
- A suitable pair of earrings for girls is acceptable.
- Earrings are not acceptable as an accessory for boys.
- Fingernails should be well-groomed and of an appropriate length -- without nail polish. Artificial nails are not acceptable.
- Hair should be properly thinned and groomed, so that it is not in the eyes or distracting. Outlandish hair styles or faddish haircuts are not acceptable. Hair may not be colored, tinted, bleached or lightened. Boys' hair should not be over the ears or shirt collar. No lines, shaved areas or extra long sections may be worn.
- Hats and caps are not permitted.
- All students must wear shirts "tucked in." Trousers or shorts must be secured at the waist with a belt.
The school reserves the right to determine whether a student's uniform and appearance satisfy the regulations. The administrators and faculty will be the judges in these matters. Teachers will inspect regularly to see that students are in compliance with the Dress Code. Students who do not adhere to the Dress Code and uniform regulations will be issued a "Discipline Report" to be signed by the Parent and returned. Repeated or flagrant violations will result in the Parents or Guardians being contacted to bring appropriate uniform apparel to the Office.
Uniforms
Students are to wear the school uniform at all times. Student's name or initials should be inside all shirts, pants, jumpers, skirts, shoes and tennis shoes. Morning Star School "spirit shirts" (blue or gray with stars) may be worn only on specifically designated days.
